INTRODUCTION:
The U17 National Championships are being held in Elphin Sports Centre, Racecourse Cres, Launceston, Tasmania 7250 from 26 Sep to 02 Oct 2026.
We are seeking a Manager for the U17 State Team and possibly for a second team, subject to player nominations. An honorarium of $600 is paid for the week of the National Championships. Airfare and Accommodation costs are covered.
STATE TEAM MANAGER DUTIES
Many of the duties or functions are undertaken in conjunction/consultation with the HP Manager and/or Executive Officer
Must have a current Working with Children Check and be a Badminton WA member.
Book Accommodation (Can be done before team is announced and once team numbers are known).
Collect contracts and health record documents from coaches, managers, players, drivers and umpires.
Organise Uniforms: collect sizes for supplier. Shirts, Shorts and tracksuits.
Arrange printing of shirts.
Set up communication platform for players, parents, coaches, HP Manager and managers.
Book Practice courts in WA for 8-10 training sessions.
Follow up on outstanding money.
Advise players/parents on travel dates, times, flight information, luggage, ID, Uniform requirements for travel and accommodation address.
Fund Raising: set up ways raise funds, receive monies, bank money, communicate with the office regarding sponsorship and donations. Note : all fundraising activities must be undertaken in line with Badminton WA requirements and guidelines
Supply bank details to parents for fund raising.
Book practice courts at the event venue.
Collect travel cards.
Work closely with and support the team coach both prior to and during the Championships.
Please note: The Badminton WA board may seek further applications after the nomination period has closed.
